La société civile s’oppose à la Nouvelle Alliance du G7 sur la sécurité alimentaire et la nutrition

Le 3 juin le Conseil de gouvernance de la Nouvelle Alliance pour la Sécurité Alimentaire et la Nutrition tient sa réunion en Afrique du Sud. Au même moment, des organisations de la société civile expriment leurs préoccupations à propos de cette initiative, car elle menace la souveraineté alimentaire en Afrique ainsi que l’accès à la terre et aux semences pour les exploitations familiales. Les échanges entre les différentes organisations de la société civile au Forum Social Mondial ont donné lieu à une déclaration conjointe.

 

AEFJN, ensemble avec plus de 100 organisations de la société civile, soutient une déclaration au sujet de la Nouvelle Alliance pour la Sécurité Alimentaire et la Nutrition en Afrique du G7/8. Lors du Forum Social Mondial les organisations de la société civile africaine ont partagé leurs analyses sur les impacts de la Nouvelle Alliance dans leurs pays. Selon elles, cette initiative constitue une véritable menace pour la sécurité alimentaire en Afrique, car elle se focalise principalement sur le renforcement de l’agrobusiness. Tandis que les principaux producteurs sont laissés à l’écart, notamment les paysan(ne)s et les exploitations familiales qui produisent environ 70% de la production vivrière en Afrique. Les études de différentes organisations de la société civile démontrent que les politiques établies dans le cadre de la Nouvelle Alliance favorisent les accaparements de terres et de ressources naturelles tout en fragilisant les moyens de subsistance des paysans et l’environnement.
